天津市文庙博物馆是天津市文物保护单位、天津市爱国主义教育基地。位于天津市城市中心地区的南开区东马路东门里1号。天津文庙是明清两代天津地方官员祭祀中国古代伟大的思想家、教育家、政治家、儒学创始人孔子的庙宇，也是天津学宫所在。

始建于明正统元年（1436），1986年设立天津文庙保管所，1991年更名为天津文庙博物馆。现占地1.5万平方米，由并列的府、县两庙及明伦堂组成，是天津市区现存规模最大、保存最完整的明清建筑群。主要建筑有过街牌坊、万仞宫墙、泮池、棂星门、大成门、大成殿和崇圣祠，这些建筑基本呈对称排列，分别贯穿在南北中轴线上，具有典型的中国传统建筑风格。现有基本陈列《大成殿复原陈列展》及祭孔乐器舞具的展出，并不定期地举办临时性展览。定期举办的“祀孔大典暨乐舞主题表演”已成为天津市影响深远的旅游文化品牌。文庙设有“状元香”、“心愿卡”等项目以满足家长、学子寄托心愿，使游客在休闲中感受到中华传统文化的博大精深，体会到古代建筑艺术之美。

文庙，还叫孔庙、夫子庙、文宣王庙、至圣庙等，是天津历史上等级最高的古建筑群、也是天津今天保存下来的最大古建筑群。据史料记载，在孔子死后第二年，鲁国国君哀公命令将孔子阙里的三间故宅，改做庙堂，岁时奉祀。后来唐太宗诏令全国“州县学皆立孔庙。”于是历代相袭，到明清时期，全国孔庙已达1560多座。天津文庙建于1436年。1404年天津设卫建城，1405年和1406年，又增设天津左卫和天津右卫，管辖海河以南沿南运河至德州以东地区，卫卒16800人，加上家属，人数不在少数。这些卫卒子弟能否上学，直接影响到军心，甚至影响到地方的稳定，因此教育就成了当务之急。再加上永乐皇帝设都北京之后，天津在当时很快成了水路和旱路的交通枢纽，人口迅速膨胀，这些从各地齐集到天津的人口，也面临迫切需要教育的问题。

1436年，提学御史程富提出上奏，要求在天津设立卫学。于是天津左卫指挥使朱胜将自己的一处住宅捐出，做为学宫校址，至此天津建起了第一所官办学校。唐太宗诏令的“州县学皆立孔庙”，也就规定了，在设立学校的同时，就要修建文庙。历史上曾经将官办学校称作庙学，也是这个原因。因此天津文庙可以说是与天津卫学同时兴建的。唐代最初建成的文庙，并不是现在看到的样子，而只是校内一座奉祀孔子的殿堂而已。到了宋代初年，文庙的建筑开始完善并开始逐渐与学校分离，大体上形成了“左庙右学”的建筑格局。

游天津蓟州文庙，曾经是古代文人的圣地，如今参观者寥寥

文庙也称孔庙、夫子庙，是纪念和祭祀我国春秋时期伟大的思想家、教育家孔子的祠庙。孔子创立的儒家思想深刻地影响了我们中华民族文化上千年，历朝历代的封建统治者都对孔子尊崇备至。因此文庙在我国可以说是遍地开花， 到了明、清时期，几乎每一个州府、县治所在地都有文庙。在天津蓟州距独乐寺大约几百米处，也有一座文庙，我参观完独乐寺后，就顺道去参观了一下。

文庙

据碑刻记载，蓟州文庙始建于金天会年间（1123年-1135年），历史可谓十分古老，现存建筑为清代所建。文庙临街的大门叫棂星门，这几乎是文庙的标配。棂星又称文曲星、魁星，古代传说中棂星为天上的文星，文庙的大门称棂星意味着孔子是天上的星宿下凡到人间的，以表达对孔子的尊崇。

大成门

走进棂星门，来到三座石拱桥前，这石拱桥名叫登瀛桥，桥下的水池称为泮[pn]池。古人将登瀛桥比作“书山”，泮池为“学海”，认为登上此桥可以让自己功成名就，文人也将此桥称为“状元桥”。走过登瀛桥，来到大成门前，门上的匾额“大成门”为雍正皇帝所题。

砚水湖

从侧门走进院内，院内倒是十分宽敞，正北方为大成殿，左右分别是墨宝斋和祖先堂。院内的西南角有一口古井，名叫“砚水湖”。相传这个名字是乾隆皇帝所赐，文人若是饮此泉水一杯，便会才思泉涌；若用此水砚墨，便会下笔如神。所以古时学子们如要应试，都会先来此处饮泉砚墨，以祈求好运。

大成殿

来到大成殿前，大成殿采用规格较低的硬山顶，面阔五间，坐落于台基之上。殿内供奉着孔子的坐像，上面悬挂一块“万世师表”的匾额，两侧为孔子的四位弟子像，均为文物部门修缮时所塑。

文庙

纵观蓟州文庙，现存建筑为清代所建，在民国年间，曾经是蓟县师范女校所在地，建国以后，成为蓟县第一小学所在地，目前保存修缮的较好，略觉遗憾的是参观者寥寥。
